FOOD: STEAK WITH GARLIC AND BUTTER SAUCE

MY FIRST TIME SEARING STEAK WITH GARLIC AND BUTTER SAUCE... LOVELY!  IT WAS NOT CHARD, RATHER CRISPY EDGES AND TENDER MEAT!  IT WAS NOT GREASY AT ALL BUT VERY SMOOTH AND DELICIOUS!






 THE BUTTER BROUGHT THE STEAK TO PERFECTION!  GARLIC ADDED FRAGRANCE TO THE DISH.  I ADDED SOME STIR FRIED SPINACH AND ONIONS USING THE LEFT OVER SAUCE FROM THE STEAK.  CAN YOU IMAGINE WHETHER THERE WERE ANY LEFT OVERS?



 


THE SECRET IS TO SEAR THE STEAK ON ALL SIDES FOR TWO MINUTES USING VERY LITTLE OLIVE OIL AND LIGHTLY COAT THE SIDES WITH SALT AND PEPPER.



PLACE THE STEAK IN THE OVEN FOR 15 MIN (RARE), 20 (MED RARE), 30 MIN (WELL DONE) AT 350C.


MELT THE BUTTER AND GARLIC TOGETHER FOR SAUCE TO SERVE AT THE END.

PROJECT: BRIDAL BOUQUET AND WEDDING PARTY FLOWERS

I HAD A CHANCE TO MAKE WEDDING FLOWERS (BRIDE AND BRIDESMAID BOUQUETS, GROOM AND GROOMSMEN BOUTONNIERES) USING CALLA LILIES AND CARNATIONS... THEY CAME OUT WONDERFUL AND I WOULD LOVE TO DO IT AGAIN!





























WEDDING FLOWERS RECIPE:
BEING AS DETAIL AS I AM... I ASKED THE BRIDE TO FILL OUT THIS RECIPE!
THE ORCHIDS ORDERED WERE NOT AS GOOD, SO DECIDED TO NOT USE IT!
I DON'T LIKE TO USE ANYTHING THAT I WOULDN'T DO FOR MY OWN WEDDING, RAW MATERIALS NEED TO BE GOOD FOR THE BOUQUET TO BE BEAUTIFUL!

FOOD: OPEN VIETNAMESE SANDWICH -- BANH MI

I had a diversity lunch (pot-luck) at work and decided to make an ethnic food... Vietnamese sandwich called Banh Mi.  Since there were tons of people at the pot-luck, I decided to make an open mini-bite-size sandwich so everyone could have a taste!  Usually, these sandwiches are the size of a subway's or quizno's sandwich!












Easy Steps:
CLEAN DRYSLICE THE VEGETABLES, MEAT, AND BREAD: 
I USE ORGANIC VEGETABLES SO I DON'T GET FOOD POISONING WHEN I EAT! 
CUCUMBER
CILANTRO
BABY SPINACH
RED BELL PEPER 
BBQ PORK 
BREAD
SPRINKLE WITH PAPRIKA FOR LOOK!


BBQ THE PORK AND SEASON IT WITH AN EVEN AMOUNT OF... SPICES, PEPPER, SRIRACHA, SOY SAUCE, SESAME SEED OIL, GARLIC, BROWN SUGAR, AND VERY LITTLE SALT SINCE PORKS ARE ALREADY SALTY!

BAKE UNCOVER SANDWICH AT 350C FOR 10 MIN

BOIL UNCOVER  SANDWICH AT SAME TEMPERATURE 350C FOR 5 MIN

PROJECT: BABY BIBS


Thanks to our friends for having a baby, we are making our own baby bibs for the baby shower as gifts! Definitely fun to learn and make!  Here are the steps we took to created these cute Winnie The Pooh newborn bibs!






FRONT SIDE

I USED FABRIC PAINT TO DECORATE BABY'S INITIALS.


 
EASY STEPS:
CUT OUT PATTERNS FROM NEWPAPERS... I MADE ONE UP! LOOKS CLOSE ENOUGH!
USED THE PATTERNS TO CUT OUT FABRICS: THREE LAYERS (TOP LAYER, ABSORBANCE POLYESTER LAYER, AND BOTTOM LAYER)

EASY STEPS:
SEW THE THREE LAYERS TOGETHER... THE UGLY SIDE TOGETHER.  LEAVE AN AREA OPEN SO IT COULD BE TURNED INSIDE OUT...THEN TRIM THE EDGES





EASY STEPS:
FLIP THEM TO RIGHT SIDE OUT USING SOMETHING 
LIKE A PAINT BUSH AT CORNERS


EASY STEPS:
IRON THE FABRIC -- IRONS ARE HOT... BE CAREFUL! 

 



EASY STEPS:
SEW THE EDGES WITH SOME CUTE PATTERN ... SEW THAT OPENING TOO!



EASY STEPS:
SEW IN THE BUTTON AND MAKE SLOT FOR BUTTON ON OTHER SIDE OF BIB! 

IRON ONCE MORE FOR CLEAN LOOK....TADA!!!
